Hi, I'm Elena

I am a science writer, content creator and consultant with a special fascination in the evolution of motherhood and maternal mental health. I have published in peer-reviewed scientific journals, grown an Instagram account from 0 to 26,000 followers in less than 6 months, and I am working on a book.I also have over a decade of strategy and product marketing experience and I love helping FemTech and female-founded companies to hone their message and grow their visibility.I am the mom of two young children who are, and always will be, my life's greatest work.

Bio

I graduated with honors from Stanford University in 2011 with a BA in Human Biology. After graduating, I worked all over the world as a social entrepreneur in women and children's health (France, India, Burkina Faso). In 2015 I completed a masters in strategic management at HEC Paris. Since then I have worked as a strategy consultant (leading projects for major clients like Club Med and AccorHotels), a SaaS product manager at Hewlett Packard Enterprise, and most recently as a freelance product marketing consultant, writer and content-creator.

Consulting work

I am a product marketer by trade, meaning I specialize in helping companies understand their market, competitors and customers and position their products and services in unique and compelling ways. I particularly enjoy helping female-founded companies, FemTech companies and biomedical companies with a focus on women's health. In my experience, it all starts with your message. If your message does not resonate with your target audience, you can leverage every best-practice in the book but you will not grow. When the message clicks, the effect is viral. Finding a viral message is not accidental or random: it requires a combination of research and experimentation. If you're interested in working together please reach out to elenabridgersconsulting@gmail.com

Writing and speaking

I am fascinated with the question of evolutionary mismatch as it relates to maternal mental health. Humans lived for 95% of our existence as hunter-gatherers: we raised children communally and in a way that was dramatically different from contemporary post-industrial societies. Is there a link between the social context of modern motherhood and high rates of postpartum depression? This is the topic of my popular Instagram account and recent peer-reviewed paper in The Journal of Evolutionary Medicine and Public Health.I am available for speaking engagements and consulting on this topic.
